Bidra med feedbackWe always have a lunch a l'Atelier des Vins, every time we are in Montpellier. It is always a lovely experience. Situated in a quiet location away form the busy streets. Very friendly staff, fresh lovely food, vin by the glass, three-course lunch menu. We asked the owner if we could switch the cake/dessert from the menu with some fresh fruit, because my husband is diabetic, it was accepted right away and with a smile. We will definitely come again next time we visit to Montpellier.
Lovely little wine shop, bar, restaurant. Very helpful, knowledgeable staff. Nice selection of wines as well as snacks of tapenade, olives, bread, local goats cheese etc as well as more substantial offerings. Highly recommended to stop for a wine tasting and some food, we’ll be back!
Having stumbled across this place while exploring Montpelier, Sebastien (Sommelier Consultant) after showing interest in the variety of wines invited us in to view the extensive range of wines they have not only on display but also for tasting (Little did he know I am a partner in one of Australia's Premier Wineshops in Sydney The AWC). As we were before the lunchtime crowd, he spent time with us explaining the wines of the region and places we should visit. Deciding to stay for lunch, we enjoyed both freshly prepared and well presented meals, and each main course was served with a selection of two local cheeses to finish of the meal. Again, Sebastian provided advice on what wines to pair with our food, and the eclectic selections were spot on. And the pre lunch olives were to die for! An excellent place to visit when in Montpelier, both for range of food and simple but of so awesome food!
We went here for dinner, and had an amazing experience. Our waiter (apologies for forgetting his name) was so helpful as our French is not wonderful, and basically just recommended things we should try. They all ended up being great, and the wines they serve are various and very, very good. My only regret is not getting the names of what I tried! Absolutely go here if you get the chance.
Superb location. Wonderful place in chic and cool Montpellier. Upscale and fresh food. Crossover French and Thai, we had the tomato soup with Thai herbs. Unusual taste, but rather refreshing. Wouldn't think Thai or French at all, but tasty and quite good. The friendly sommelier/waiter suggested a dry, local wine which was crispy and fruity and perfectly drinkable. The noodle salad with beef was Ok. Bland noodles and so so salad. Very good beef. The cherry on the cake was a taste of Chateau d'Yquem 2003 by the glass. At 13 Euros for 2 cl. it was a treat! I've tasted better vintages of this iconic wine, but it was sublime. Try this once in your life! Very nice experience, but the crossover wasn't quite to our taste. Good, not great. Also on the expensive side. The location, the service and the d'Yquem did it for us.
