Bidra med feedbackFirst, important to note that this place is not at the listed address (unless TA accepted my notice of change). It is sitting at : Wellington St, Montreal, QC The place doesn't look like much from the outside... nor does once you...step in. It is an hybrid between a sports bar, as lots of TVs hang on the walls... and a sketchy neighbourhood bar, with the video lottery machines being placed right in the center of the place... and many people losing their cash on them. But, the waitresses are very courteous from the moment you set foot in the place. I ordered the smoked meat plate... and it was very good. Although the sandwich was on the smallish size, there were plenty of french fries and I don't believe I'm exaggerating when I say these might be the best ones I've ever eaten. They are well cooked (most likely doubled-cooked), but still a bit crispy on the outside. The dish also came with some slaw and a giant dill pickle that was very good ! If this area... this is a must try and leave whatever judgement you may have about such a place at the door... or be disappointed to miss out on it !
We went to the Capri as a large group to celebrate a birthday. The service was very good and prompt, which was impressive because we were about people. It is not fancy, but very casual. The smoked meat was good, certainly not the...best Montreal smoked meat, but still very yummy.
The Capri has closed at this location its new location is Wellington St corner of Butler... Sports Bar themed after nos amous Les Canadiens.... Parking now on street but be care to read the signs for alternate street cleaning days...
This restaurant has a classic tavern style. We sat in the bright and airy section above the bar. Our server, Manon, was delightful and provided excellent service.
I went to this restaurant several times over the course of a week. They served basic brasserie-style food, similar to what would have been found in a tavern in the past. There were a few standout dishes like Pig's feet and Pork Knuckles, and roast beef. Overall, the food was decent but nothing extraordinary, especially the main dishes. The food was quite greasy, which is to be expected from this type of establishment. Overall, it was just okay but a bit on the expensive side. I probably won't be returning to this place for at least a year.
