La Capannina - Montréal

Three generations of my family have eaten at La Capannina and none of us have ever been disappointed.This is the favourite restaurant of my parents , who are in their eighties. They have always loved it and are invariably well treated by Claude and his staff. It is my go to Italian restaurant when I am in Montreal.We were last there with visitors from Europe in late July.As usual , it was great.Service : Impeccable. Food : DeliciousAtmosphere : Perfect.This is a great example of a restaurant that has been around a long time and continues to do everything right.I highly recommend it.

I loved my entire experience at this conveniently located downtown Italian restaurant. The service was impeccable. Claude was a reservoir of information and pleasant exchanges. The food was outstanding; my pasta was excellent and my companion loved the veal. Best in town she said! The ambiance was charming and subdued. I was able to have a conversation that I could actually hear. I can only rave about this restaurant and encourage everyone to have a sumptuous meal at a reasonable price. And the wine selection was topnotch too. Five stars well-deserved!!! LC

While in Montreal on vacation, our hotel concierge recommended this delightful Italian restaurant and we and our friends loved our first time there so much, we went back again four evenings later! The menu provides many mouth-watering options so it was difficult to make a choice. All four of us totally enjoyed our selections as they were beautifully presented, absolutely delicious and served in a timely and comfortable manner. Both evenings, the staff were very welcoming, efficient, friendly and made sure we had a lovely time. Claude, the owner/host/server asked about our vacation plans, shared some fun stories and surprised all four of us (and the table next to us) with limoncello drinks as after dinner treats--how generous and kind!

Just returned from a quick business trip to Montreal. Our hotel recommended La Capannina since we were only going to be there for one night. The food was excellent, but the thing that made it wonderful was the interaction we had with the owner, Claude. He was very genuine and funny and made the whole dining experience fun. We will definitely go back again when we are in Montreal.
