Le Cheval Blanc - Montréal

Beer was really quite good. Didn’t expect such an aggressive response to only providing a 10% tip when ordering a single beer. I’ve learnt that there is an “expectation” in Canada for tips but the growl and distain was really not called for. They seem to attract quite a few “alcohol dependants” here at the bar so you’ll get harassed for buying them shots and drinks. Overall while the beer is good maybe worth giving a miss. Which is sad.

Y wife thought the place was a dive! I thought it was ok. Service was good! Beer prices were less expensive than most places I went into. Beer was good and brewed on premise. As the place filled up, it did start getting noisy!

As I continue to explore microbreweries in Montreal, this one is highly recommended. A quiet bar with nice atmosphere and tasty beer. I have tried their Blanche Ambré, both tasted great. Ambré remains my favourite though. Nachos as a side order was fine. Don’t expect an haut de gamme though. Service may be a bit slow due to understaffing as I noticed but the service team remain fantastic and hospitable.

I spent a few days in Montreal and quickly made this bar my local visiting it every night. The service is great, the staff was very friendly and ready to advise on the beer selection and the little outdoor seating area was a plus on a balmy evening.

My favorite bar in Montreal ! Tasty craft beers and good team. If you love craft beer you can go at this place on blind faith.
