Kinikin Processing - Montrose

I am a huge lover of a rib eye steak. I purchased one from Kinikin and I must say this is the best steak I have ever eaten by far and I have eaten at many 5 star restaurants in my life.You could cut this steak with a butter knife it was so tender and full of flavor. I cannot wait to try their other meats. Highly recommend them!

We've tried using Kinikin for USDA processing multiple times in order to sell the cattle we raise as beef. Every time we've used them we've had problems including, but not limited to, the list below:1. Our customers complain about the packaging being covered in grease and chunks of meat on the outside of the package (the only processing plant we've used that has gotten this complaint)2. Steaks folded over on themselves so the vacuum packed seals were all broken, causing rapid freezer burn3. Overcharging us $980 and only looking into it after I talked to 3 different people4. Suspected missing or different meat from our animals because the yield weights from other processing plants have been significantly higher5. Extremely rude employees helping load the meat. They placed all our items on the ground next to my open car when I asked them to hold it in the freezer for 10 more minutes while I looked into the $980 overcharge.The main problem is not necessarily the mistakes made but the lack of energy to correct these mistakes. I hope this post can save some people money and time.

Have been bringing meat to Kinikin for years, always loved there service and work. This year I brought in 180lbs of boned out, clean elk meat and got back 109lbs. They told me they had to cut of 64lbs of trimmings to process the meat. Really Ruined my ladies first elk hunt and left us looking for a new butcher. No explanation either. Would have been better if they just told us one whole quarter was thrown in the trash. Really sad.

We recently purchased a half of beef and a half of pork and it is the best meat we ever purchased. We have purchased from several other processing plants in the past but this is the only one we will go back to.

We are only in the area for a short time and discovered this meat market today. The lamb chops were wonderful. Possibly the best we have ever had. The grilled chops were tender and flavorful.
