Bidra med feedbackIs there an expectation of a large crowd at this restaurant? There were too many tables and chairs, making it hard to move around with little leg room. We had to move some chairs to get to our table, which was too big. The waitress seemed a bit strange, possibly not a native English speaker. The scones were tasty but very dry, the tea was fine (it's just a tea bag, after all). The kids' fish and chips were obviously pre-frozen and bland. The decor and restroom were fine, but they should consider removing some tables to make more space, as it was empty when we visited on a Saturday afternoon.
My family and I visited Quality Cup for the first time in approximately 8 years, when it was called Failte. It used to be a busy and popular spot, but times have clearly changed. When we arrived on a Saturday lunchtime, there was only one occupied table, which was concerning. Despite this, we decided to stay as we were all hungry. The décor and furnishings were pleasant, with retro photos adding a bit of flair. However, there were too many tables and chairs crammed into the small space, making it feel crowded and uncomfortable. The menu was basic, offering typical Scottish café fare like sandwiches, paninis, and hot meals. We ordered a coronation chicken toastie, a tuna panini, teas, and a scone. There were some mishaps with our orders, such as receiving the wrong type of bread and not getting the fruit we requested for our daughter. The side salad was bland and lacked dressing, and the highlight of the meal was the hula hoops crisps that came with it. Despite some shortcomings, the scone was tasty and the teas were fine. Overall, the lack of space, average food quality, mistakes by the waitress, and absence of baby changing facilities were disappointing. It's clear why there were so few customers during our visit. Quality Cup must make improvements if they hope to see us return in the future.
The atmosphere at the restaurant is pleasant and the service is good. I ordered a roast vegetable panini for £4.95, which was a bit plain. However, the specials on the board offered better value, such as quiche with chips or salad for £4.20.
