East Gate Barbecue - Morgan City

Service is ok, the place is pretty sticky, the windows are gross, and the Bathrooms are foul. The brisket is tough, and the smoke is bitter. The coleslaw is salty and obviously fairly old and the beans are tough. I am underwhelmed and won?t be back. 2 stars only because the girls at the counter were nice.

Very good! Menu is varied with solid prices and serving sizes. Meat was juicy and flavorful and the Jalapeno BBQ sauce was delicious. Plan to return and try some of the daily specials and other options!

The best barbecue east of the Texas Border! This is my go to rib and pulled pork place. If you need a real hamburger this is it! Yes you'll have to wait^^this is real!!

I stumbled upon this restaurant and it turned out to be a fantastic discovery! The BBQ was absolutely authentic! I tried the Big Sloppy along with a side of fries, and both were incredibly delicious. There were many little touches that contributed to a wonderful experience. Their jalapeño and maple sauce is simply extraordinary, and the coleslaw was excellent too. The bun for the sandwich was fantastic, even though I only managed to eat the bottom half. The prices were quite reasonable, and the service was excellent as well. The only downside is that the walls are permeated with years of food odors and grease. While the place isn’t dirty, it's evident that it hasn't been renovated for quite some time. You definitely take some of that smell with you when you leave. I will definitely return the next time I'm in the area!

I went to this restaurant for lunch with my boyfriend, and it was a fantastic experience! I ordered the one-meat plate with pork ribs, which came with two sides, so I chose mac and cheese and potato salad. My boyfriend opted for the two-meat plate with brisket and pulled pork. The food was absolutely delicious! The portions were generous, so come hungry! The restaurant was very clean, and the staff was incredibly friendly. I highly recommend this place and will definitely return! The prices are reasonable, and the selection is excellent. If you're in the mood for some great barbecue, you have to give this place a try!
