Bidra med feedbackThis restaurant was a pleasant surprise! We were in the area for business and decided to try the Xian-style sandwiches and dumplings at this place. The beef burger turned out to be even better than expected! The pan-fried bun was delicious and the fillings were well-seasoned and flavorful. While not exactly Xian-style, it was definitely delicious. Adding vinegar and hot oil made it even more heavenly. This was a unique and delightful new discovery for me. Unfortunately, I didn't have room to try the dumplings because the burger was so filling. I will definitely be returning next time I'm in Durham!
The dumplings have a homemade quality to them. They are delicious and just the right size! I also tried the bao - they were super big and very filling as well!
I really appreciate that the dumplings at this restaurant are not fried. They have a great taste without all the grease.
Wow, the dumplings are really really good, and dare I say, sophisticated! The first bite will give an unmistakable hint of five spice, but it will disappear quickly, and you will be getting the pure beef (or shrimp) flavor with the liquid, and of course the toothsum shrimp or beef bites, with the background flavor of scallion. The shell is pure textural joy! all ingredients tasted very fresh. Loved it.
Went here in the middle of the week and got their spicy beef burger, assorted dumplings, and pan friend pork and mushroom buns. The buns were definitely my favorite out of the trio...the spicy beef burger was not that spicy and felt like it needed a vegetable or sauce of some sort...it was also very oily. The dumplings were okay, but felt like they would've been better if there was a pan fried option. The spicy chili oil that came with it was delicious...I would've bought that on it's own if it was available. Would come here again and try other things on the menu. There's also frozen dumplings you can get by the pound to take home, which would be good and easy to add to a soup or ramen as well. The customer service was great and clearly a mom and pop type atmosphere. Also right next to the Indian grocery store, so you can hit up both in one go.
