Bidra med feedbackGood business lunches, if you like the business lunch concept and pricing, and want a main course that differs from the typical Muscovian fayre. Well kept Guinness too. Sightly dowdy ambience, though.
An Irish bar full of the British and Irish factory beers preferred by the masses. Having said that there are thankfully not too many lagers. As this is a cellar bar, the terrace at ground level is welcome in the summer.
Prices are a bit higher than it should be considering the list of beers(kinda short) and that the service is rather slow(so your Kilkenny will be lacking it's signature foam by the time they get you one). Food is ok no more no less: fish and chips, burgers(they ask about the doneness of the meat but whether it will be on point or not is up to them and not according to your request), salads(meh) and standard second(for pubs) dishes. Standard check for one person will orbit around 2000 rub with 2-3 beers and a dinner.
The best fish and chips I’ve had in Moscow so far(and they have proper vinegar . But... the usual English beer choice and some local crafts of which half were out and one was off, as in, tasted like vinegar. Obviously not taking care of their pipes. The pizza was terrible (I suppose a pizza in a Irish pub in Moscow was a mistake . So apart from the fish and chips, there are many much better pubs around than this place.
Went there with a friend on a Saturday night, both ordered beer (not bad), I ordered the vegetarian lasagna and my friend the Irish stew. After 51 minutes waiting (yes, 51), the waitress came back and said they couldn't make the lasagna due to a technical reason. Unbelievable. So I ordered Bolognese (clearly was into pasta that night) which was supposed to be served with garlic bread (weird, but why not). Katie O'Shea's idea of garlic bread : 2 day-old, cold, not even toasted, white supermarket bread (I'm french, I can tell you about bread), without garlic, or salt, or taste. The pasta was not bad, but definitely worth the price. My friend's ragout was okay too. Last point: after waiting 51 minutes for food that was never to come, you'd think you'd have a discount...Well nope nope nope, no discount, the waitress even got angry at me when I asked about something I didn't understand on the bill. Except that, the music was good.
