Bidra med feedbackSoups, salads, burgers, breakfasts, quesadillas, and a fantastic roast chicken dinner with all the trimmings. Locally sourced! Try the lobster samosas, made fresh and by hand, with PEI lobster, mashed potatoes, and spices. Like the best pierogi you ever had... Super friendly staff, if a bit overwhelmed by a crowd. But the food is totally worth it! And the homemade desserts, oh my... Cakes, pies, and chocolate tiramisu. Can't turn them down. Got mine to go...!
I was pleasantly surprised to find this place while looking for VEGAN options in Charlottetown. I would not say that it is the easiest place to find since it is upstairs within a building. The place is quite nice inside, almost fancy looking but I felt comfortable enough in the unique booth with my friend in our jeans and hoodies. I came specifically for the vegan poutine. I was very excited, especially to share the meal with my non vegan friend. I will say that the meal was good. I often go out with friends am am left without any options, except maybe salad so if this were my option, I would be happy. But when the dish arrived, we both sort of looked at each other. It was a bowl of tater tots. Seriously, tater tots. $10 for a bowl of tater tots. I mean, I love tater tots, but it was not what I was expecting. I do not remember the taste of the gravy. The cheese was supposed to be ricotta, which was interesting in itself, but was basically crumbled tofu, so there was so cheese taste. So while I appreciate the options.... if I were ever in the area again, I would likely try something else.... unfortunately it is a bit overpriced for a pretty basic, non memorable dish. I hope they will continue to improve and have community support for providing vegan friendly dishes.
The menu features a delightful selection of soups, salads, burgers, breakfast items, quesadillas, and an incredible fried chicken dinner complete with all the fixings, all sourced from local suppliers. Be sure to try the lobster samosas—they're fresh, handmade, and packed with PEI lobster, potatoes, and spices. They remind me of the best pierogi I've ever tasted! The staff is super friendly, although they can get a bit overwhelmed, but the delicious food makes it all worthwhile. And the homemade desserts? Oh my goodness! There's an array of cakes and chocolate tiramisu that are simply irresistible. I can't get enough! I need to go back!
Finding vegetarian options on Prince Edward Island can be a challenge, so discovering this diner was a pleasant surprise. The sandwiches were delightfully unique and perfect for us cyclists on the Swiss Trail!
Overall, the meal was good. As someone who often goes out with friends and struggles to find suitable options beyond salad, I would be thrilled if this were my go-to choice. However, when our dish arrived, we exchanged puzzled looks. It was a bowl of what I can only describe as tater tots. Seriously, just tater tots. For $10, I expected more variety. Don’t get me wrong, I love tater tots, but it wasn’t what I had anticipated. The cheese was meant to be ricotta, which sounded intriguing, but it turned out to be more like crumbled tofu with no cheesy flavor. While I appreciate having vegan options available, if I find myself in this area again, I would probably choose something else. Unfortunately, the dish felt overpriced for something so simple and ultimately forgettable. I do hope they continue to improve and gain community support in providing more vegan-friendly dishes.
