Lawson Park Hotel - Mudgee

We reAlly enjoyed our night with our caravan group. Great atmosphere and Good dinner plus the best sticky date pudding ever. We will be back.

Went to the Red Heifer for dinner last week. Prices were on the high side for steaks , which we were prepared to pay. However the steak that was orders as "medium to well done " was in fact burnt and dry - over done I would say.In addition the waiter clearing the table was bad mannered and clearly needs more training in hospitality. I know it is only a pub, but I expected better for a place that charges up market prices.

Bar service was quick and very helpful when I asked a question about the wine (which was AMAZING). Schnitty was cheap & tasty. Atmosphere was friendly and relaxed.

Had the best steak and ribs. Steak was cooked to perfection and the ribs fell off the bone. Quick service too. And cold ale off tap to wash it down.

Being a Monday night in the school holidays we thought the restaurants would still be open. Wrong. Was recommended to try this pub and lucked out on 2 for 1 meat night. Must be good because it was busy. You can cook your own or have the chef do it for you. I cooked our own and had colourful conversations with others doing the same. Great variety of meats on display. Staff were incredibly patient and helpful. The wine list good as was the beer. Just a great Pub with all the trimmings.
