La Isla - Mugardos

Arrived in the lovely Mugardos on a hot day looking for lunch....the Pulperia la Isla was full of people eating both inside and outside and obviously very popular, but luckily we found 2 outside seats!! Ordering was interesting at a full bar and food was served by loudspeaker calling your table number....luckily other diners were kind enough to help us listen for our number!! The food was hearty...big portions and very good; the waiter advised half portions to share. A thoroughly enjoyable 'Spanish ' tapas/lunch experience.

We visited the Pulperia La Isla with the family after consulting Tripadvisor reviews and were not disappointed. The Pulpo a la Mugardesa was delicious as were the mussels, both fresh and very well prepared. Good portions as well. The brown rye bread served was typical of the area and was also excellent. To make things even nicer, the waiter was very patient, friendly and helpful, advising on the size of portions (half portion of a salad because the 1 portion would be too big—and he was right! . And most important of all: I would have lost my cell phone if it hadn’t been for him! Thank you! There were two other same style restaurants right next to La Isla, but seemed half empty. We were tempted to go to them because La Isla was so full, but we were happy to have decided to go with La Isla at the end. Check their page on Facebook. Can´t wait to repeat the visit.

Todo era muy bueno, me encantó las zamburiñas, las croquetas cocinadas, la ensalada rusa, las chipirones y los calamares, todo lo que me encantó. la empanada era rica pero prefiero otros propietarios con la mejor masa. El postre tiene mucha variedad, todo hecho en casa. Las torrijas con crema eran de vicio. la ubicación es excelente, está en frente del mar, nos prepararon una mesa fuera de la terraza joto junto al mar.

Muy amable y sincero al recomendar cantidades. todo lo que pedimos fue muy bueno, las navajas y el pulpo recomendaron 100.% no es barato pero pide media raciones pero hemos sido muy una gota y con aire acondicionado, que es muy apreciado en estas fechas. Si te acercas a la zona, no dudes en probarla.

Un sitio espectacular, con vistas al río y con precio de calidad excepcional. Pedimos media ensalada de pulpa (menos mal, porque pequeñas cantidades) y un pulpo crujiente porque nos llamó la atención. y sin duda, repetiremos seguro para probar el famoso pulpo a la mugardessa!
