The Austral Cafe And Bakery

I highly recommend this restaurant. We stopped in Murwillumbah for the night after a long trip and it was truly the highlight of our evening. I would give it 5 stars for the excellent customer service, the quick service (especially considering we ordered large portions), the charming retro cafe atmosphere, the affordability, and the delicious taste of the food.

This restaurant has a nostalgic retro vibe. I just enjoyed a delicious milkshake and a fully loaded hamburger. If anyone claims to have the best milkshake or burger, they are lying - this place is truly the best by far.

A bit of an institution in the town apparently. Established in 1919 the building had a lot of history with interesting booth seating, nice nice food, nice milkshakes, quick service which is all you can ask from a quick pitstop. Thanks very much.

This is a nice Cafe. Food sizes are good, cakes an treats are massive in the windows. There is no pressure to move you along as there is quite a lot of seating inside. Recommended for sure.

This restaurant is a perfect spot for lunch and reflecting on the past. I had a wonderful conversation with the owner after my meal about the history of the building and the town.
