Max's Garage - Muskogee

Max's/Maxine's is a reliable spot for anyone looking to enjoy a classic bar atmosphere. It's an excellent venue to dance the night away with the locals. However, they have really elevated their dining experience lately. The food is genuinely impressive, with their burgers competing with the best in Muskogee. The fried mushrooms are hand-breaded rather than merely frozen and fried, making them a must-try every time you visit. Their ranch dressing is also exceptional. They offer a delightful brunch menu on Saturdays, although I wish they would do a Sunday brunch as well. The restaurant goes all out with Christmas decorations each year, which adds to the festive atmosphere, and they have a seasonal photo area with a cute backdrop. The only significant drawback at Max's is the inconsistent service. It often feels like they are short-staffed, and service can be quite slow. While they do accept reservations for large groups, they don't seem to honor them, leaving you to wait anyway, which undermines the point of making a reservation. Despite this, I will keep returning for those amazing fried mushrooms!

The service was excellent, and the restaurant offers plenty of space with ample seating options, including a large patio area. The food was satisfactory, and there are numerous TVs throughout the venue.

My husband ordered the Big Max, a burger that comes with a hot link, bacon, and cheese, all served on brioche bread with housemade Jack Daniel's BBQ sauce. He loved it and would give it a 4.5, as the flavors complemented each other beautifully. We both shared the French fries, which we would rate a perfect 5. They had a light, crispy crunch and were delicious. I opted for the Old Fashioned Hamburger on brioche bread, which I would rate a strong 4. It was definitely filling! The restaurant was beautifully decorated for Christmas, and it looked stunning. I took some pictures, but it’s even more impressive in person. We’re really glad we chose this place and would absolutely return. It was a delightful surprise!

Visited this place twice now. Food is great. Both times I got the blue cheese burger and kettle fries. My only complaint is both times our service was incredibly slow. Waiting 15-20 mins to order drives me crazy.

It's a fun environment.. sometimes. Nate makes the best drinks up front on Fridays and Saturdays. It's a lot more fun when there's a lot of people there and everyone line dances. The dance floor isn't big enough for a bunch of two stepping.
