Mel’s Diner - Muskogee

I love Mel’s! I eat here every time I’m in town. The food is excellent, and the staff is great. It’s a reliable spot to enjoy a meal in Muscogee.

It took way too long for our server to take our order, despite there being only one couple ahead of us. When our food finally arrived, it wasn't cooked properly, and we waited far too long for the biscuits and gravy. The sausage gravy had only two tiny pieces of sausage, and there wasn't enough gravy to even cover half of the biscuit. Additionally, if you order milk for breakfast, it comes in a children's cup. These are just a few of the issues we encountered.

If I could give this place zero stars, I absolutely would. We walked in and weren't greeted at all. Two women at a nearby table mentioned to the waitress that they had been waiting over an hour for their food. Meanwhile, we watched as several employees stood around doing nothing while the cook rang the bell multiple times, waiting for someone to pick up orders before finally delivering food to other customers. Throughout our visit, we were never checked on for drink refills or anything else. In fact, customers who arrived after us received their meals before we did. When we decided to leave, they finally brought our food out, but I told them we no longer wanted it and just wanted to pay for our drinks. The employee responded with an attitude and was quite rude. They didn't seem busy at all.

Delicious steak and eggs. Place was clean and waitress was great!

The food was Hot and delicious! Friendly clean place with excellent service.
