The Club At Laplaya Beach Golf Resort

Wenderson was an absolute help and really made our experience so much better. The rest of the staff were just as helpful and for that reason we recommend this resort to everyone! This truly made our honeymoon so amazing

W brought our whole family to Laplay for a long weekend and celebration of life for our beloved Aunt. Everything was wonderful and staff goes above and beyond. We had a private dinner at Baleen and the food was wonderful and chef and wait staff forst class. Rooms are gorgeous and view can not be beat!

We have visited La Playa for 3 years now, so we know it's a beautiful resort with lots of potential. This year before booking we called ahead to ensure we understood what was open after the hurricane. They assured us pools were open and their main restaurant was open to hotel guests. I am fully empathetic to the damage from the hurricane but feel misled and disappointed by the price and experience. There was only one pool technically open, and it was closed while we were there for a code violation. So in the Florida summer heat there was no pool access. Only one elevator works in the resort so as more guests arrived, it took several minutes to go anywhere in the resort. We stopped by the Baleen one day and they confirmed they had two menus for the night. When we arrived for dinner, there was only a limited bar menu. There was also active construction happening each day we were there. I called management to voice my disappointment and we paid over 500 a night and all they would offer was 50 dollars off a day for the pool situation. They seemed completely indifferent which was upsetting. They said we could maybe use their sister hotel but they didn't help with any transportation (it was 20 minutes away so we lose the convenience and have to pay for ubers). We traveled from Chicago for a getaway and overall it was very disappointing especially how little the manager did to help knowing it was our third year there. The beach is beautiful and the staff works hard, but I really don't think this hotel is ready to be open. At a minimum they should be more transparent about the state of things so guests can prepare.

I would like to pay special attention to the following staff members, we have been going to La Playa since my son turned (5) and my daughter (3) he is now 7 1/2 and she is (6) it was great to see familiar faces after the storm and meet new ones as well. Claude Front Desk was patient and kind It was great to see that Cornel Michael are still on site. Maura Gerogiana from F B I hope Manny makes a speedy recovery. Billy, Nadya, Belafort, Carmelo, Nick, Juan, Vinny, brandon, Maius, Thomas, Chris pool, bar, beach and restaurant servers Arlene in housekeeping. you guys made special memories for my kids once again and my parents who were there for the 1st time couldn't stop speaking on how great the rooms, the staff were.
