Bidra med feedbackThe best part about this restaurant is the view and location. You can't beat a spot on the ocean. It was a little confusing on how to enter the restaurant. The front steps leading up to the outdoor seating were blocked. I went into the hotel below to ask how to enter the restaurant and was told to walk around the building and go all the way around. Once I found the entrance, I was greeted right away. We wanted to sit outside for our Sunday brunch but there were not enough tables with umbrellas, so we sat inside. We were the only table seated inside. The food was fine. The crows nest was a hit at my table. I ordered an omelet with no cheese. It came with cheese but we had waited so long for our food to arrive, that I just picked around it. The service was pretty bad. We all ordered coffee and water which is pretty standard at breakfast. Our server did not come around to offer refills--we had to seek somebody out. We were the only table! Like I said before, our food took so long to come out that I did not dare return my omelet for fear that I would not get anything to eat at all.
I visited this restaurant for dinner on a Friday night. Parking was easy to find in their large parking lot shared with nearby shops and eateries. I would definitely come back for drinks and snacks on their patio, but only on a sunny day. For starters, we had clam chowder, a garden salad, clams, and calamari. The salad was a generous portion and everything else was great, especially the clams with grilled focaccia. Be sure to ask for extra bread. My brother ordered the steak, which came with delicious sauce, hash, and grilled vegetables, but the steak itself was a bit tough. I'm not a fan of steak anyway. My mother enjoyed the lobster roll, even the fries were fantastic. I couldn't resist stealing some. My stepfather had the fish and chips, which had a thick batter and was average, maybe below average for some. The portions were all very generous. I chose the lobster mac n' cheese for my entree, even though it was listed under appetizers. It was huge and delicious. Everyone tried it and I still had leftovers. Make sure you order it for the mac n' cheese, not for the lobster and pasta as there wasn't much lobster in it. Still, it was very tasty. I give it 4 stars just for the lobster mac! In terms of service, the hostess was friendly but our server was a bit rude when she snatched the menu out of my hands. Overall, the experience was good but the service could be improved.
I had forgotten about this small restaurant until my visit on a Tuesday evening. The beach weather wasn't great, so it wasn't too crowded. We chose to sit on the patio where our waitress was attentive and efficient. Our group ordered teryaki wings that were cooked in the oven due to a gluten allergy, and they were quite good. The waitress was knowledgeable about gluten allergies and offered us many gluten-free options, including pizza, pasta, and grilled or oven-cooked dishes to avoid cross-contamination. The house salad was generous enough for three people, and the salmon and brussel sprouts were decent, although the combination was a bit odd. The clear chowder was alright, but the gluten-free broccoli rabe pizza was delicious. The fork grilled cheese was also a standout. I would definitely return, especially because of their gluten-free friendly options. Plus, they offer a 10% discount with a Yelp check-in.
After finishing our laundry in the area and waiting to pick up my father from the airport, my mother and I were in search of a good, affordable restaurant nearby. We opted to sit outside, enjoying the perfect July temperature in the shade while overlooking the sea. We decided to indulge in seafood fritters and mussels, both of which were absolutely delicious. Every aspect of the meal was outstanding, making it the best seafood dish we had tasted on our trip so far (which included a road trip from Arizona!). The mussels were particularly exceptional. The staff was friendly, the weather and views were delightful, and the food was top-notch.
We stumbled upon this beachy place after walking back to our inn because they had a live guitarist playing and he looked like one of our friends from back home. They have a decent cocktail list. Some are served in mason jars. I had the strawberry basil cocktail it was fresh but maybe too pulpy to be considered perfect drink-itude. They also have 8 to 10 beers on tap. The first time we went, we ordered the salmon cakes and they were delighful. 2 burger-sized fried concoctions with spicy mayo and a tiny after thought dolop of remoulade. I was hoping for more remoulade, but oh well. The next day on our way back from the beach we stopped in again. Different guitarist, and we ordered the fried calamari. It was quite spicy since it's served with rings of hot peppers. I wish they would have fried the peppers in the same way that the calamari was. The hostess was decent. She sat us quickly outside on the deck but there was a delay in when a server decided to talk to us. I can see why the average rating is a 3 possibly because of the service) I liked the food and drinks enough to bump it to a four. Note: They allow well behaved pups on the deck.
