Ol' Republic Brewery - Nevada City

A lovely brewery worth visiting. The outdoor space may be small, but it’s cozy and inviting. Inside, the layout is well-organized, creating a fresh and relaxing atmosphere. The beer selection is quite good, with plenty of options for takeout. The bartender was friendly and provided excellent descriptions of the different beers.

I've been brewing beer for forty years, so I have a good sense of quality, and this place definitely delivers. It's a pleasure to unwind outdoors with a drink in hand and watch the world go by. If I were to critique them, it would be that they fall into the trend of overly hoppy IPAs, where flavor can sometimes get lost in bitterness. However, I highly recommend trying their exceptional beers with a gentler hop profile.

This was our first visit today, and it was fantastic! Every beer we tried was excellent. We sat on the terrace with our dog and enjoyed the lovely weather.

Great beer here. The brewery is not big, but it wasn't on a Friday when we showed up. The NE IPAs were good and well paired with a hot day. Unfortunately I live so far away.

Visting the Ol Republic in the late summer after a hard day of work, sitting on the patio and enjoying an uncommonly delicious brew is where it is at. I love grabbing a growler and taking beer home too. The stainless steel growler is very worth the price, especially for a work vehicle water bottle when not filled with beer.
