Yamato Japanese Steak House

I had the unfortunate experience of trying this restaurant last week for lunch. From being seated, to ordering from the menu, to getting my drink, the service was rude. And they didn't even have chardonnay! When I asked for a cold slaw, the server was defensive and rude. I ended up ordering a shrimp roll and pan-fried gyoza, but the gyoza came deep-fried instead (clearly not what was indicated on the menu). The server argued that this was how they served it, and then proceeded to criticize my attitude. This was the rudest service I have encountered in all my years of writing and traveling. Proceed with caution when considering this restaurant, and be prepared for potential backlash on social media.

I am giving this restaurant a 3-star rating because the food was good. However, I have a concern about the portion sizes. The two times we ordered from here, they only included 2 "yum yum" packs per entree. I found that one of them was not even half full, and only one of them was half full. The first time I mentioned this, they gave us 4 extra packs the next time, but it was still barely enough. I hope they address this issue and improve their portion sizes.

Great food at a decent price with plenty of food for the money. We will definitely be back! Loved the one in Madison, IN and found this one today.

Delicious tonkotsu ramen! Prices are very reasonable.

This restaurant isn't my usual preference, but my son enjoys the food and mentions that the service is quick and the prices are reasonable. The interior of the restaurant was too dim for me to see much.
