Churrascaria Novo Mundo - New Bedford

Don’t be fooled by the location or the size of this restaurant; it’s one of the best places in New Bedford for Portuguese cuisine. They definitely excel in rotisserie chicken, which seems to be the bulk of their business. The Mozambique shrimp was some of the best I’ve had in the city. Their rotisserie and kitchen area are visible from the dining room and are immaculate.

I discovered this restaurant on Google and decided to give it a try. It felt like finding a hidden gem rather than just coming across it by chance. While it has a fine dining atmosphere, we felt completely comfortable. I had a few questions about the menu, and the waitress was extremely helpful. The food was excellent, and I’m eager to return to sample more dishes. Plus, there’s a lovely bakery next door.

Excellent service and fantastic food! The rotisserie chicken is absolutely delicious! The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming. Carla is an amazing waitress, and the owner, Carla, is wonderful as well!

The finest Portuguese cuisine this region has to offer. her roasted bun is the absolutely best everywhere.

Wow... Went here for dinner the other night. It's a tiny little place, lively and packed with locals. I wanted to try something off the appetizer menu. They were out of the Spanish style clams, which I heard were fantastic, so I opted for the fried calamari. What a treat. Fresh crispy on the outside soft on the inside just enough chew...lovely flavor, lovely sauce that accompanied it. The bread was really wonderful. I guess it comes from the bakery next door, New Bedford baking company. It was crispy on the outside and fresh and slightly chewy on the inside. I also got the Portuguese style BBQ half chicken that came with the lovely fresh salad and a boiled potato. Very hardy portions. I'll definitely be back.
