The Waiting Room Cafe - New Brighton

A hidden gem in New Brighton, located on a tucked-away side street, this unique small café shares its space with a model shop and features model railways and assembled models for sale. The food is freshly prepared, and the latte is both beautiful and strong. I was informed that they source their ingredients locally. It was a lovely experience overall, and I highly recommend it. This was my second visit!

This charming little café feels as inviting as a friend. I had the most delicious sultana scones served with creamy dipping sauce and a choice of jam. We opted for the black currant jam, which was fantastic. We also enjoyed a large pot of delicious tea that refilled our cups three times! It was a delightful experience, and we’re definitely planning to return on our next visit. The tea and scones are simply amazing.

"We had a wonderful experience today at this charming little restaurant. The staff was incredibly friendly, helpful, and pleasant. The homemade food truly felt homemade, which was a delight. When my partner didn’t care for the soup of the day, they kindly offered him a different option, which was just what we needed on such a chilly day. The selection of cakes was delightful, and we enjoyed browsing through all the models in the shop, especially watching a little boy choose a kit. We will definitely be back!"

Dropped in this place as it was convenient to where we were working and was very impressed. All food we ordered was home cooked as was the soup of the day which was lovely. The coffee and atmosphere was also excellent as the staff were really friendly and accommodating. Definitely recommend and will return!

Popped in for a takeout coffee with a friend and our 3 dogs. The staff were so friendly and lovely and we were made to feel so welcome. They even made our dogs a little puppucino which was a lovely treat. I’d opted for an independent cafe rather than Starbucks and this is exactly why. They deserve all the customers they can get
