This place is very nice. The only issue at the moment is that they are currently without a carvery chef, so they are unable to serve roast meals on Sundays. As a result, the menu is slightly limited, but the food that is available is very good.
The staff at this restaurant are lovely and the room is spacious and clean. The toiletries provided are plentiful, and there are tea and biscuits in the room. Parking is easy and the location is great. However, the breakfast was not up to par. While we appreciate the challenges in recruiting chefs, the croissants were not good and the toast, jam, and honey were of poor quality. On the positive side, the fruit and yogurt were delicious and the tea and coffee were excellent.
My husband and I visited The Barn just before Christmas and really enjoyed our lunch so returned again last week to find that it is no longer an Italian restaurant! It now serves pub food (change of chef, I presume). We enjoyed our burgers but are disappointed that it is no longer an Italian restaurant.
The barn is a wonderful place and all the workers are great. nothing was too much annoyed. the free breakfast was really well received and excellent quality. especially I liked the crumbs with the toast. gavin took care of everything for us while eating mai waiting for us. we will definitely be back for a longer stay in this fabulous inn.
