This all-vegetarian health food store is owned by three generations of a vegetarian family, so is a true mom and pop store. Edge offers a complete all-vegetarian bakery and an enticing almost all-vegan warm food buffet where everything is clearly labeled as vegan or dairy. Whereas its website shows only one photo of its many dishes, you’ll find more informative photos on its Instagram page. Seating is available, but it is cramped, so recommended more for takeout than for eat-in. The “grab and go” (a loathsome term that sounds more akin to shoplifting) fridge with prepared foods is especially praiseworthy for the dishes themselves and for their clearly labeled lists of wholesome ingredients. Far from Yale and the cultural center of downtown, it remains out-of-place in this rundown residential neighborhood for which your out-of-the-way trip may not warrant your extra mileage. It is located in a strip mall that is perpendicular to the street, so is very easy to pass by and miss, thus adding to your mileage. But if you persist, you will be rewarded with an affordable and nourishing meal.

I found new brands products that I have never seen before with a healthy nutritional profile , low sodium, low fat , oil-free. Produce looks amazingly fresh. I bought a pound of quinoa from their vast selection of bulk bins

I had no idea how much I would love this place. First of all, their cupcakes!!! Omg!!! so many vegan desserts but my fav is the pistachio cupcake. Their deli has a menu that can be made completely vegan. Also, the prices are great so I’m able to return more often. Love love love!
