Dodson's On Broadway - New Lexington

I was recommended this restaurant for its "home-cooked food" and its quaint, family-run vibe. Unfortunately, that was far from the reality. We sampled several dishes, and none of them lived up to the quality of home cooking. They used Chester's chicken, which is more fitting for a gas station than a restaurant. The potatoes were instant and lackluster, while the gravy clearly wasn’t made fresh. The green beans were bland and unseasoned. The pizza dough tasted stale, accompanied by a flavorless sauce, and the toppings felt very sparse. On a positive note, the iced tea was enjoyable, but it’s hard to mess up a simple drink. Overall, I was extremely disappointed with the food and its price. It’s disheartening to say that I had a better meal in a hospital, and that was institutional food.

Excellent variety of tasty dishes at very affordable prices. The atmosphere is friendly and inviting. A fantastic spot!

The potatoes were instant and coarse, while the gravy tasted anything but fresh. The green beans lacked seasoning, and the pizza dough felt old, accompanied by a bland sauce. The toppings were minimal. The iced tea was good, but it's hard to mess up tea. Overall, I was very disappointed with both the food and the prices. It's sad to say that I had a better meal in a hospital, which speaks volumes about the quality of the food here.

I ordered a medium lizard(gizzard&liver) and let me tell you, it’s not worth your money. I literally got four livers and 10 gizzards 7.50. I can buy a whole package of liver and gizzards for that price. But if you don’t want to cook at home. Go to Lees chicken in Newark, well worth the drive to get the amount of food you deserve at that price.
