Coco Hut - New Orleans

On my recent trip to NOLA we accidentally stumbled on to this restaurant dragging our many bags of luggage around killing time before our AirBnB was ready several blocks away. We ordered the Jerk Shrimp Wrap. Talk about absolutely amazing!!! This will be my first stop when I go back to NOLA for lunch! Loved the heat and spice! These gals got it going on for sure! ????

Bar none, as far as im concerned, this is top 3 place to eat in New Orleans it ain't number 3). I would need a book to properly express how home feeling, delicious, affordable, and soul affirming the food service is at Coco Hut so just save time, go, and thank me later!

Upon walking to the door the owner yelled across the restaurant telling me to stand outside(which I already was) with a very nasty attitude. Both of the “women” got aggressive with me. The other woman (with the tight crochet braids) came out and cursed me out for no apparent reason. Highly disrespectful and unprofessional. How can you enforce a mask mandate but talking over peoples food? I wish I could give this place zero stars. Maybe the owners wrap on her head was too tight that day and the other chick with the crochet braids was a little too tight as well. Save your coins and go to other Caribbean restaurants. The other restaurants taste much better.

So much YES.First of all, who doesn't love a good hole in the wall? Second of all, this is some of the best food I've ever had. We ordered a whole red fish with rice and veggies (and of course plántanos) The fish was scaled fresh to order, need I say more? Treat yourself and your tummy and check this awesome spot.

EVERYTHING was so delicious!! I ordered the salmon j plate, hibiscus tea and sweet potato pie. That food was so damn good! Everything was well seasoned and flavorful. Will definitely order from there again!
