Bidra med feedbackFor the adventurous eater, this place offers no-frills, just great food inside a food market and liquor store. We took a streetcar directly to this spot, which enhanced the whole experience. We ordered a Shrimp Po'Boy, Combo Yakamein, and egg rolls. Everything was delicious, and I would highly recommend it! The bo hue broth is absolutely phenomenal. Sour, hot, spicy, and clear. Doesn't even need anything added.Food: 5/5
Be sure to bring cash, as there’s a 3.5% surcharge for card payments. The yakamein here was excellent! The food is quite good, and while the prices are a bit on the higher side, they’re still lower than what you’d find in the French Quarter. The staff is very friendly. It’s a cozy little spot that I believe Anthony Bourdain would have loved to try. Vegetarian options include tofu pho, tofu bánh mì, and tofu yakamein, though I’m not certain whether they’re made with a meat-based broth.
The Bahn-mi and pho burrito were indeed delicious, but we chose to eat them at home due to the unsafe environment of the area where this market is located. There were numerous people crowding the entrance, bothering the staff, and creating quite a ruckus. Additionally, the bathroom was lacking basic supplies—there was no toilet paper or soap. A staff member even had to give me a roll from the shelf to share with my partner. If you're craving Vietnamese food in this area, the taste is good, but the safety and cleanliness leave much to be desired.
I have loved Eat-Well for years!Banh mi, pho, yaka mein galore. Very veggie friendly and cheap but delicious. Ask for foods spicy if you'd like but you can't go wrong here.[Tofu banh mi (spicy) and veggie yaka mein with tofu and egg.The workers are very sweet, treat them well!(Bring cash, or a surcharge is added for card. Dine in or take-out.)Vegetarian options: Tofu and vegetable broth available.
