Bidra med feedbackOne of the biggest treasures of Westchester is the bread factory at 30 Grove Street in New Rochelle. You have phenomenal breads and my personal favorite is her cranberry walnut bread. They make them in different sizes, including reels that always seem like they just came out of their ovens. I used to throw tennis in a nearby club, and my weekly pilgrimages only helped breathe in the amazing aromatic scents of freshly baked bread. You also have delicious cakes, cookies and bread sticks! A Thanksgiving, I ordered foot long bread sticks that were a special item that they make for weddings and other events. I was concerned about them as the coronavirus has changed the landscape of retail and wholesale companies, as I am sure that many of their restaurant customers no longer order the quantities of their delicious breads and rolls. I was happy to find the bakery busy with new counters and probably do well, as I would consider the bread factory to be really ESSENTIAL business! It is with a trip so to breathe in the smell of fresh bread, but it will be smarter to buy some and bring them home!
Another great reason to love New Rochelle! Walked over from metro north after work and picked up an awesome birthday cake for my husband. It was a marble Bundt cake with Nutella ganache that was totally scrumptious! I think it was just one of the baker’s specials for the day since I never saw it there before. Anyway we love all the cakes bread rolls. The quality freshness cannot be beat anywhere in the area. Keep up the great baking!
The bakery itself is amazing. Only complaints they post a sale sign by the small loaves 2.00 on Sunday. This sign is there everyday and it's very deceiving. Come on how difficult is to wait till Sunday. Counter people are really not that friendly. They finally have prices listed.
Everything is fresh made. High quality Italian and French bread and pies. Great choice of very reasonably priced hearty breads danishes, cakes, and sandwiches.
I have been going to this bakery for 15 years and the whole family loves their bread. A favorite is the Epis but you need to get there early for that one. Cranberry walnut is a winner and the sliver dollar brioche buns are so yummy. My husband is French and he's hard to please he loves their bread as well, so that's as good as a stamp of approval as you can get. They also make French Galettes des Rois for the Epiphany. When they make their prune danish I always buy some as well. I love the staff, and am so so happy that they made it through the panedmic.
