If you're a mosquito, this restaurant is definitely the place to be! You can lounge near the entrance where diners are asked to wait for their tables, almost like it's a rite of passage. However, if you're a human, be wary of the mosquitoes buzzing around the door. The sushi quality is quite good, but the portions can be on the smaller side and sometimes a bit chewy or fishy. Additionally, the noise level can get quite high, whether the restaurant is packed or not, as there’s little to absorb the sound.

The best fatty tuna roll in all of New York! The service is outstanding, and the ceramic dishes they use are gorgeous.

We visited for my partner's birthday, and she absolutely loved it. She remarked that it was the best sushi she's had outside of Japan. The staff was also very friendly. Overall, it was a great experience!

4.5 rounded up, for the omakase menu. A good quality omakase, but without paying those Manhattan prices. We got to Uotora for our date night, and booked a reservation over the phone easily. The only issue with the reservation was when we got to the restaurant: it took 20-30 minutes to sit us down, since the previous party didn't finish yet (the omakase bar can only sit 4 people).
