Lucid Café - New York City

I absolutely love this place! It's small and cozy, yet never feels crowded. The coffee is fantastic! I always visit on weekend mornings so I can sit outside, relax, and enjoy my coffee.

During a recent visit to Lucid Cafe, I had the pleasure of enjoying their exceptional latte while seated in the inviting outdoor area. The latte was undoubtedly the highlight of my experience, though my visit was marred by an unfortunate encounter with another customer. The latte I ordered was a true masterpiece—crafted with care and skill, it stood out as a premium offering. The espresso had a smooth, velvety texture, harmonizing beautifully with the perfectly steamed milk to create a rich and complex flavor. This alone would be enough to bring me back for another visit. However, while I was savoring my drink and occasionally vaping, I was approached by an agitated patron. What began as an ordinary moment quickly escalated into a heated confrontation, as he loudly expressed his displeasure about the vapor. The situation became increasingly uncomfortable when his tone shifted to something more aggressive. While I usually remain unfazed by strangers, his behavior felt overwhelmingly confrontational. In response, I decided to record the incident on my phone, which seemed to change his demeanor. He ultimately walked away, leaving me taken aback and disappointed that such a disruption could occur in a public space. Despite this unsettling interaction, my experience with the latte at Lucid Cafe left a lasting impression. The baristas’ craftsmanship and attention to detail are truly commendable and distinguish them in the coffee scene. In conclusion, my visit to Lucid Cafe was a mix of enjoyment and discomfort. The exceptional latte showcased the baristas' dedication, making me eager to return for their quality beverages. However, the encounter with the irate patron was unforgettable and casts a shadow over the overall experience. I hope that Lucid Cafe can maintain a serene environment where customers can enjoy their drinks without the threat of unwarranted confrontations. This coffee shop is fantastic! The pastries are delicious, and the staff is very friendly. I especially love the cream cheese danish!

Lovely setting, the wooden round tables are very nostalgic. Although the space is really small, it still provide some lovely space for chatting with friends. Love their latte!!!

Really nice cozy cafe, with good coffee. For sure I recommend this! Just to know you can't pay with credit for things under 5$.
