The Dapper Spaniel - Newark

Eat was good, but the service stays very slow 10/15 minutes before ordering and then wait over 45 minutes from ordering to main course and a 30 minutes wait for a bakewell tart dessert. before the house staff were pleasant and apologetic (if eating finally arrived) problem seems to be in the kitchen. we ate here 7 or 8 times and have the same problem each time. eating was always really good, but please improve the speed of the service.

Great food served by friendly staff. Did not feel rushed at all. Lovely atmosphere not noisy so could hold a conversation.

Food and service was brilliant, But had to wait over an hour for our main meal , which was a long time to wait when you have a 5 year old with us

Sunday lunch with the family. Very limited selection of traditional Sunday roasts and service was very slow despite the restaurant only being 1/3 full. Food was nice but roast beef seems overpriced for what you get. Good meat and yorky puds, but then 2 little roast potatoes and a tiny selection of veg made up the rest of the plate. Staff friendly as always but seemed to be only one lady rushing about trying to take orders, run food etc.

Main reason we would go is for the food and that was great. Service was good but need to understand where the food comes from when questioned.
