Lovely setting, excellent service, dining room nice and cool considering how hot is was outside. Thank you

The food was good. The service was far from good. The staff, especially the lady who seemed the most senior, had attitude in spades. The gents toilet had an awful smell and when mentioned to a staff member she shrugged her shoulders and walked off. Waited for over 19 minutes in the reception with at least 3 members of staff walking passed who did not even acknowledge our presence. The dining room was very cold again when mentioned clearly no intention of trying to remedy the situation, just agreed and walked off. We felt the nearby radiator which was turned off, and turned it on ourselves and the room did warm up slightly. Sorry for the dreadful service we are highly unlikely to return.

Last time we were here was about 5 years ago and could not fault at all. However, although lovely venue and very friendly efficient staff, the quality (and quantity of my tomato salad) of the food fell short I feel. My starter of Heritage Tomato salad was indeed tasty helped by a beautifully dressed salad but the star of the show was .......well, stingy. Raspberry panna cotta was very poor and putting some whipped cream on the top was overkill. Disappointed

Really enjoyed our afternoon tea eating nice much of it could not mistake our visit.

My man and I went to the afternoon. we were greeted nicely and our moms were taken. unfortunately this was the only good service we received. the coffee was not particularly hot and the pot did not drip badly on the table cloth. the scenes had been heated more than once, so were extremely crusty. we ate one, but not the second I actually spent for the birds when I came home. the texture of the silver was very dense, not pleasant. after several attempts to win someone's attention, we got another pot coffee, but the waitress pulled so fast without leaving us more milk, we had to wait again. No one wanted to ask if everything was in order. so we went. I asked about our moms and said they were around the corner, not shown there, so had to hunt for them themselves. When I arrived at the takeawaybox, I wore my coat and was told that I should go back to the dining room to get the uneaten eat myself. I wasn't impressed.
