Bidra med feedbackWe recently moved to the area and have tried other bagels places but were not impressed. We found Browns online this morning and decided to check it out. Bought a dozen and now we can honestly say we found the best. Being a native New Yorker I know what a good bagel taste likes. We highly recommend Browns as the best! We will be back !
Excellent service very nice and pleasant. The bagels need to rise more they are kinda flat and dense, with that said I did enjoy a grilled bagel at home. Will come again and see if it was just an off day.
I hate to say it, but the new owners/management really need to talk to the former for tips and really get an idea of what they were doing before because it's unlikely we will be back. We LOVED Browns. It was our go to for bagels and they were spectacular. Now, the bagels taste old, are flat and dense. The lack of topping cream cheese mostly) is super disappointing. The overall bagel just isn't the same. I've given this 4 chances since the change over the past few months and I've been hoping not to post but I feel like it's just getting worse : I really hope the new team can revamp whatever is happening and bring back the amazing bagels that once were.
What on earth are these 5 star reviews referencing? Not the place I tried last week, surely. I mean, I 've heard that Browns is under new management; perhaps that helps explain it. I 'm stumped, and disappointed. Make a list of everything that can go wrong with a bagel: Skimpy Dense and hard Stale Burnt Flavorless Literally, every complaint I have ever had about a bagel was recreated on my bagel with cream cheese at Browns (except over proofed, which would have been welcome in this instance . And the cream cheese was so sparsely spread that I have no idea if the flavor was any good. My best guess is I think so ? But good flavor, spread so thinly that I can barely taste it, is rather useless to me. I got a second, plain bagel, to take home (before tasting the first , that was so hard (as presented, not next day I could use it as a door knocker. 20 sec in the microwave did the trick, and the flavor was OK, but this revival shouldn 't be needed. The only reason I ate both is because I paid for them, and I 'm stubborn that way. Over six bucks for the pair was an affront, considering the quality/care put into it (seriously, who serves a highly burnt product, lightly covered with spread as if that will mask anything? Is this a COVID era workforce issue? . This is a real shame, because they have a few unique flavors that I really wanted to like. I rarely find egg or spinach bagels, outside of a city, these days. I suggest one goes next door to Cracked Skulls (never tried their bagels, but they MUST be better than what I experienced here , or go 10 min away to Emery Farms (before 2 PM and experience bagel bliss.
Truly worthy bagels.Fresh spreads, and an excellent variety of bagel types , including Salt , which is a personal favorite of mine.I feel that they compare favorably with the bagels at Great Barrington Bagel Company. Brown's are a bit larger. And,the crowds are similar in size in the a.m. No inside seating at Brown's.
