Bidra med feedbackThis is the closest Captains Boil to our house. The staff is courteous and helpful, the atmosphere is nice and cozy and the food doesn't differ much in taste in comparison to other Captains Boil franchises in the GTA, but there is only thing that I can really complain about with this location... the shrimp. The shrimp is either not fresh or overcooked, it is consistently the mushiest shrimp I have ever eaten! When trying to peel the shrimp from this location, it disintegrates in your hands. The mussels and other seafood from here have no issues, seems like only the shrimp. I would recommend this place for anyone who loves seafood, but just avoid ordering the shrimp. Also, Captains Boil sauce on rice... drool!
I wanted to take my son for a nice dinner out on 29 Sept because we both love seafood and I had seen good reviews for Captain's Boil. Unfortunately we were both VERY disappointed. 1. My club soda was flat and tasted like tap water. They gave me a second one, but it was also terrible. I sent it back, but it still showed up on the bill.2. My 8-yo son is a shrimp-a-holic and was looking forward to his own bag of shrimp. Unfortunately it was frozen, or old, and he almost started crying after he ate the first shrimp. I convinced him to try a second, in case the first was a fluke... but we also found it powdery and gross. We sent it back and didn't pay for it.3. I ordered clams with mild sauce. The sauces range from none, mild, medium and hot. I think they got them mixed up because the mild sauce was very spicy. The clams were only ok.4. The side of corn was a lousy 2-3 inches of a cob.5. I wanted to order two more items from the menu (lotus root and soup) but the server said they are no longer serving them. He apologized for forgetting to tell me when he handed me the menu.6. I started to order a side of broccoli but changed it to okra. When the server put the printed order on our table, I noticed it still said broccoli. I called our server over and he said the order was correct in the kitchen. However, the okra did not arrive until we had finished the rest of our food. I'm guessing the server just didn't pay attention to my order. When I told the staff we were unhappy with the food, they offered 10% off.... which worked out to the same price as the club soda I didn't drink. We ended up going to another local eatery because we were still hungry.Management: do not reply to this review asking me to email you. My comments above are clear and I do not want to deal further with your restaurant. Others have made similar comments, so you know what you need to do to improve your business. Wish I could give zero stars.
000 star !!! This establishment is now permanently closed. I booked a birthday party for tonight, got a request for confirmation the day prior., which I confirmed. Here we are stuck in front a closed door. Shameful !!!!
It was our first time dining at Captain’s Boil however I will probably not visit again since got stomachache right after. Agreed to the other reviewer that the shrimp doesn’t taste fresh... not sure what exactly caused my stomachache though...
We had the worst seafood meal I've ever had tonight. Our brusque impatient server forgot my husbands order to start. It was brought out as we were leaving. When the meals were delivered slowly and one by one an Ice cold half corn on the cob came in my messy over garlicked seafood boil bag. The manager came after we complained and kindly brought another 1/2 cob also cold. We were charged full price for the three meals we did receive. The fourth was free of charge when it finally did come. Portions were small but cooked ok. Very overpriced I thought. Based on what we saw at our birthday meal I would not recommend this restaurant.
