Wildfish Seafood Grille - Newport Beach

My boyfriend has always wanted to try this place and I had never heard of it so we came for dinner to see what it's about.

Came here on a whim to watch the ALCS games and had a BLAST!!! First off, the happy hour here is pretty good.

SOoO I don't know why it took me so long to write a review ? Came here 3 times for dinner and I love it here!! I must say, their crab cakes r delish!!! Wow,

This restaurant is not my type of place. The bar/tavern had noisy, rowdy customers even though it was empty. The tasting menu had small portions and was not worth the money. The waitress told me the green peppers in my clam chowder were mild, but they were actually spicy and I had to spit them out. They replaced it with asparagus, which was the only vegetable option. They didn't notice when my water glass was empty and I had to ask for a refill. The seating in the bar was uncomfortable, with backless benches, but you could request a chair. Overall, not a great place for someone like me who prefers a meal with more protein and vegetables. However, the coffee was good.

4 plates divided. Scallops cooked perfectly, sauce not very aromatic, chased the small amount of peas around the plate. Beet platter was good. Tuna poke had strings of supposedly kelp salad, fries were sparse and not wasabi powder. If more chips were requested, the answer was "not sure but will be checked". Return with 4 chips. It seemed rather strange that the smoked bluefish and avocado toast was served with bluefish on one toast and avocado on the other.
