The County Seat - Newton

After many years we finally made the journey from Hackettstown to Newton's County Seat, why have we waited so long? Do not let the Ragtag out you stand, inside is a warm and welcoming friendly pub with exceptional food. The wooden deco passes through the bar area into two dining rooms. If you get the menu in your hands, you cannot believe the fullness of the elections. It's really hard to choose. So we tried everything, the Bruschetta was the best I ever had. The seafood Ceviche is another favorite. Each appetizer had a diving sauce that was good for the last swallow. Potato wrapper Shrimp, Fried Calamari with a honey sauce. I'll have pictures for them. The County Seat has the best food in NJ. If you weren't there, try to make sure you're not disappointed.

The food at County Seat rivals some of the best NYC restaurants really! Chef Roger constantly creates unusual but incredibly tasty meals apps. Best burgers wings too! Sure to please any tastes best find in the area

The salad was enjoyable, but it could have used a bit more refinement. The butter lettuce had some unpleasant spots that should be addressed, and the leaves could have been more easily torn into bite-sized pieces. On the other hand, the Jambalaya was outstanding, featuring an abundance of delicious seafood.

I always look forward to checking out the new items on the menu and experimenting with the different options. Roger and his team are incredibly friendly and attentive. Although I have unique tastes (except when it comes to wings), every dish I've tried has been exceptionally well-prepared, delicious, and beautifully presented. You can tell that Roger takes great pride in his work in the kitchen and is genuinely passionate about what he does.

We stopped by for the first time today after hearing great reviews, and we were not disappointed. While the exterior doesn’t look like much, the true artistry lies in the food. Our server, Michelle, was fantastic. The crab cakes were decent, and the Caesar salad dressing could use some improvement. However, the gorgonzola bruschetta and Mediterranean platter were outstanding, and the salmon was cooked to perfection. We will definitely be returning! Mark your calendars for 11/25/16—we’ll be hosting two parties this year and celebrating Christmas here. The service and food are consistently great, and the owners are wonderful people.
