Oishi Inc - Newtown

I had a fantastic lunch with my friends at Oishi in Newtown. I thoroughly enjoyed the vegetarian sushi with cucumber and avocado, along with a salad that featured an incredible ginger dressing and a vegetarian Pad Thai. My friends were impressed with the chicken salad and a delicious chicken hot plate dish (I can’t remember the name). The waitress was extremely friendly and provided clear explanations about the menu.

The restaurant now feels chaotic and disorganized, almost as if they are just focused on churning out food for takeout rather than providing a pleasant dining experience. We used to look forward to a nice night out at Oishi, where we could count on a great meal and inviting atmosphere. However, now it feels more comparable to a local Chinese buffet, offering similar food quality at a much lower price, and honestly, the same ambiance. It's a very disappointing change, and I won’t be returning. This once local gem is no longer what it used to be.

When we returned at 7:30 as advised, the waitress was incredibly rude and impatient, which made the experience quite unpleasant. The appetizers were excellent as usual, and I ordered my favorite dish, including an upgrade to a Rib Eye Steak. Unfortunately, it turned out to be mostly fat! My husband’s steak was all fat, and in my steak and chicken combo, I could only eat the chicken because the steak was inedible. This isn’t what I expect from this restaurant! So, what's our takeaway? No one answers the phone for reservations, the staff is extremely rude, and the quality of the meat was unappetizing. I think we might choose one of the other three Japanese restaurants we frequent, like Oshi, next time. This could very well be our last visit!

For years, the Sushi and the entire menu have come to Oishi. But the service was recently terrible. I know it's hard nowadays to find good help, but our service was slow, inconspicuous and rude. We love the food, but we're not going back to this place. Try the Doylestown location.

My friend and I were looking for a new place to eat a while back in Newtown and were completely sold at the thought of sushi! So at the recommendation of the Pro Shop Newtown, we headed on over to Oishi for a bento box and some sushi rolls! Oishi is a Korean/Japanese/Thai restaurant located in the Village at Newtown off of Eagle Road. The service and food were both excellent and we already have addition menu items in mind that we want to try in the future!
