Bidra med feedbackAbsolutely phenomenal! We got bar service on a Tuesday night with our bourbon society and we did not expect what we would discover. Brittany (slaying it in those Doc Marten?s) has created, let alone perfected the Eagle Rare Old Fashioned. We have drank more old fashioned?s in a lifetime as a group than the gas that it takes to drive a Dodge 1500 across the country and this is without a doubt the best Old Fashioned we have had, right here in Nicholasville. 12/10 would recommend.
While out enjoying a weekend drive, Fat Man Reviews made its way to Drake's Brannon Crossing in Nicholasville, KY. Drake's is a small chain with 18 restaurants over 6 states. Drake's is open for lunch, dinner and late night eats. We started with the BLT Tots, a large order of tater tots covered in creamy ranch dressing, chopped bacon, shredded iceberg, Roma tomatoes, and scallions. The tater tots are out of a bag, but they were cooked and seasoned to perfection, with an excellent crunch. The ranch tasted homemade and was creamy and though maybe a tad salty. The bacon was cooked well and added a good bite. The lettuce and tomato were fresh. This is a large appetizer that could easily be a meal. My fiancé tried the Mini Cheeseburgers and a side salad. This comes with three minis, melted American cheese, lettuce, tomato and pickle. Ketchup, mayonnaise and mustard can be requested on the side. The burgers were cooked well done, and we're slightly dry, but the melted cheese helped that. The bun and veggies were fresh. The salad was a BLT salad covered and mixed in ranch. I decided to try the Buffalo Chicken Minis and fries. The dish is three chicken sandwiches with buffalo sauce on butter toasted buns, blue cheese(ranch is available) and lettuce, tomato and pickle on the side. The chicken was cooked well and gives you nice portions. I would not mind a bit more sauce on the sandwich. The blue cheese looked and tasted as if made in house. The buns again were fresh, and the fries, came from a bag, but were cooked well also. Drake's Brannon Crossing offers several sandwich and burger options. They also offer Aqua sushi, 20 beers on tap and a full bar. They have several TVs throughout the restaurant, so this is a great place to watch a game. The service was pretty good. The Fat Man says that Drake's is Fat Man Approved.
The worst restaurant experience I had in a long time. So it wasn't very busy on Sunday at 2:00. Maybe 20 or 30 other people in the whole restaurant tops. Since this is said, we had to stand at the table for over 5 minutes before someone actually came to sit. Then after we finally sit (outside, although it was 90 degrees), it took another 5 minutes until our waitress could come. She took our order and everything seemed good, but then it took 25 minutes to bring our food. Remember that there is practically no other in the restaurant. When our food came, we had finished our drinks a while ago, but were so focused on finally getting our food that we forgot to ask for refills, we thought we were asking ourselves next time we saw them. Reader, we haven't seen her since 30 minutes when she gave us our check? up to what point we had already finished our food and needed no refills anyway. It was so hot, and we waited so long that our ice was actually melted in water, so I guess *that was our refill. She never came to check us out; the only times we saw were to order, get our food and pay. I usually tap at least a few dollars, even if the service is bad, but I didn't leave her because she obviously didn't deserve it. Anyway, went back to the food terrible, I had a buffalo chicken packaging that was so saturated in oil that the tortilla literally dissolved in my hands before I could finish it. It was a huge bunch of musk I had to eat with a fork. The chicken itself was extremely dry, so the only moisture in the whole package was the oil. Thank God the buffalo sauce was not hot at all (which is a separate problem), because I didn't drink all the time! As we were sitting outside, there were flies that wore us all the time when we had eaten. Overall, only an absolutely terrible experience. When we came home, I had to chop a bottle of water because I was so thirsty? as I said, it was 90 degrees outside for Christ's sake, and we had nothing to drink there. Needless to say? never back.
Usually Drakes is pretty good. Even on a bad day I can give mercy, but yesterday the cake takes. My daughter ordered a Shirley temple, the Sprite or whatever they mix, was bad. They made new ones that were fine, but the next ones were bad. The one who drank my daughter had a fly that she thought was a CHERRY when she cheated on her. So they took our DRINKS! I know you're busy, but it's Sunday, you know everyone's coming. Then our salads took forever, and when I got my salad, we were done. Finally, my daughter drank her salad and had to spit out plastic from the salad bag. Totally unsatisfactory! So they took off their salad. The manager said because of the open doors we have flies, SO WHAT!!! It does not eliminate your duty to provide good service and good food. We should have gone, but good citizens, we paid our part.
Overall great atmosphere, very festive nice place to meet friends buffalo chicken quesadilla will hold its own against anywhere. Only dropped to 4 stars because they don?t have baked potato to go with the steak.
