Bidra med feedbackCourtney's is such a good mom pap joint. A lot of good home cooking and desserts. When you want a good home cooked meal feel, go here!
I've worked in Noblesville for six years and this is the first time I've been here! Shame on me! (Also shame on me for digging into my fries before snapping an appropriate meal photo! My coworkers and I came here for lunch on a Wednesday. They have been raving about it, but we always tried to go when it was closed (on Mondays . Each of us ordered the same thing: petite breaded tenderloin and fries. Wow. So delicious! One of the best tenderloins I've ever eaten, and their fresh cut fries are very good! Definitely worthy of a 5 star review. They also had homemade cookies for $1, but we decided to pass this time. I definitely won't next time. They looked so yummy!
This place is a diamond in the rough. I was craving a tenderloin and decided to give this place a try. And, it did NOT disappoint!! I'm born raised in Indiana and have had my fair share of tenderloins. This place quite possibly has the best tenderloin I've ever had!! 10/10. Their fries were delish too! I'll be back in no time.
As a longtime activist in the area of violence prevention, particularly that involving children, I must confess that my primary motivation for visiting Courtney's Kitchen for a late lunch today was to contribute, in some small way, toward a sense of normalcy in a community that had experienced a shooting in one of its middle schools within the past 24 hours. So, I married the decision that one small way I could support the community was simply to support a business in the community. As I'm on a three day weekend, I had already intended to try to snag some Yelp reviews and I decided my Saturday afternoon journey would be to Noblesville. Courtney's Kitchen is a locally owned establishment that sits just off the downtown square on Logan Street with a small parking lot directly in front of it and a parking lot off to the side that meters during the week, until 5pm, and is free on weekends. Courtney's offers a handful of outside dining tables, though I was in the mood for air conditioning and opted to stay inside. The sidewalk in front of Courtney's is in a little bit of disrepair, worth noting if you have mobility issues. I'm in a wheelchair and just slowed down a bit and was fine. Similarly, the front door has a pretty significant lip to it and a slightly heavy door. If you have lower body strength issues you may require some assistance. As you enter, you sort of arrive at this dividing wall that gives way to the open concept dining room that includes tables and booths. I believe there were also booth/table combos. Today, it was seat yourself and they had menus at the front door but also brought you one if you happened to miss them. Now then, it may sound from this early tone like I'm about to rip on the place a bit. Guess what? I'm not. This is an older building and it's far more accessible than one might expect. While there might be some minor architectural barriers, this is all made up for with top notch service and a delightful atmosphere. First off, as I entered a server working outside quickly moved over to grab the door. I was impressed. I sat myself at a two top, which I rarely do given my desire for a little space being in a wheelchair, but I really thought it was enough space and the other tables available just seemed like too much space for me. I was greeted by a young server, though she wasn't to be my server. My server, Anne, came by shortly thereafter. There was what looked to be a rather large party taking up a considerable amount of space on both sides of me. I have no idea if it was a church group or a family or what, but there were several small children present and these folks were delightfully social. While I suppose I could have been bummed at the chaos that surrounded me, I kept thinking to myself how lovely it was to have children enjoying themselves and screaming for all the right reasons considering the tragedy from the day before. So, quite honestly, I loved it. My friend and a fellow Yelper, Rick G., had given Courtney's a rather modest 3 star rating a recommendation but a mild one so I decided to skip the tenderloin. Instead, I opted for their Legion Burger, a 1/2 pound behemoth cooked to order with a variety of side options including bottomless fries. I've honestly never known a local joint to do bottomless fries. I ordered my usual unsweetened iced tea. They have a variety of sandwiches, several burger options, a breakfast menu, a kids menu, and they do serve beer and wine. Most of the beer options are national brands, though I did see at least a couple locals. My burger was top notch, cooked as ordered at medium well with a nice flavor and just really tasty. The fries filled the plate nicely. I was asked if I wanted more fries once I suppose one other offer would have been nice since I wasn't quite ready, though it's worth noting that the manager/owner (I wasn't sure) who was working noticed my plate had been removed prior to any more fries and specifically came to me asking if I was full. I appreciated that check back immensely. The fries were lightly browned, seasoned beautifully and quite good. Other than the minor faux pas of clearly my plate a tad quickly, Anne was simply stellar. She was friendly, helpful, welcoming and actually made sure I got a couple of iced tea refills we all know how seriously I take my iced tea. I was even more impressed by the teamwork throughout my stay. I was allowed to linger for my usual reading, while I sat and watched everyone seemingly get along really well and openly help one another. There's more than a subtle hint of family and faith at Courtney's. It's not broadcast, but it's pretty undeniable. There's also a devotion to American Legion, so I'm guessing it's owned by a military family. The atmosphere is very comfortable, friendly, welcoming and there's local art on the walls. They have daily specials the bill came in at $13+. Overall, a truly terrific experience and I'll definitely go back.
I tried the bowl of chicken pot pie soup. It was unique with a biscuit as the top crust. Great price for the size. I would prefer at least another crusty biscuit to cover the entire pie.
