Bidra med feedbackAbsolutely amazing! I've never encountered such a hidden gem of Indian cuisine in such an unexpected location. The food was fantastic, and the staff was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. The chef was particularly friendly and truly understood how to make the most of the ingredients. I would highly recommend this place!
We received a warm welcome at this modern and chic Indian restaurant. To start, each table is served tamarind and mint chutney alongside fresh papadam. We ordered both salad options, each featuring cucumber as a base, as well as a vegetarian tandoori plate and butter chicken. Overall, our food was fresh and mostly delicious. However, both salads could use a bit more salt, pepper, or seasoning, as the table was devoid of these essentials. The total came to $50 USD, which included a large bottle of still water and a tip—not a bad deal at all.
This restaurant offers exceptional contemporary Indian cuisine and service typically found only in the finest establishments around the world, but at a more affordable price. My wife and I dined here in October 2017 while I was visiting a friend's high season in France. We opted for the vegetarian thali, which featured a delightful variety of curries, both hearty and sweet. While the raita wasn’t the main attraction, it was a standout accompaniment with a wonderful light zest. I believe the restaurant had opened just a few months prior to our visit. It is owned by Aniljeet Singh, who also runs the five-star Leeu on Huguenot Road. Despite its modest exterior, the interior design is warm and inviting, creating a comfortable connection with the outdoors. We were thrilled to meet Chef Vanie Padayachee, who possesses remarkable talent, and we expect great success for him in the future. Bravo to Aniljeet and Vanie!
Brilliant curry and good service (the wee was also excellent! we had not finished our first course before my wife began to book again next week, so good is this place! the food was great, smaller in portions than usual, but fine for us, and the lamb was a little over boiled, but still beautiful. the sauces, although we are some of the best we tasted. the photo is of a non vegetarian and vegetarian thiali.
The restaurant is beautiful and food was delicious! A good choice of wines too (as expected for the area). Definitely recommend for an authentic (northern) Indian food.
