Bidra med feedbackInside, Martin's feels like a meticulously clean living room that could use a bit of modernization. The low-hanging wooden ceiling tiles and paneling, while distinctive, evoke a bygone era and suggest the food might be dated as well. We arrived around 9 a.m. on a Saturday, and the place was alive with energy. A steady stream of customers and the bustle of engaged staff hinted at fresh food coming out quickly. Martin's menu is straightforward: a biscuit filled with a protein of your choice, along with options like hash browns, grits, and sausage gravy on the side. It reminds me of McDonald's, but if McDonald's actually cared about flavor, food quality, customer service, or much of anything at all. I ordered the Sausage Biscuit and the Chicken Biscuit. The biscuits were delightful; clearly made fresh every morning. While they were a bit dense and not as flaky as many Southern biscuits I enjoy, they were still soft and buttery. The sausage patty, however, was small and lacked any real seasoning. Personally, I prefer sausage with a bit of a spicy kick. The Chicken Biscuit, on the other hand, might just become my new fast food guilty pleasure. The chicken was moist without being greasy, encased in a light, peppery breading. Often, a breaded chicken nestled in a biscuit can taste overly starchy, but that wasn’t the case here. I generally avoid fast food eggs, as they often taste rubbery, but I did sample my wife’s bacon and egg biscuit, and it was surprisingly tasty. The bacon was flavorful and was cooked well, not resembling tree bark as it often does. The eggs tasted...
What I really appreciate about Martin's menu is its straightforwardness—they focus on no-frills, delicious food at unbeatable prices. The portions are generous, and you'll be pleasantly surprised! As soon as I spotted the chicken biscuit on the menu, I knew I had to order it, along with a side of sausage gravy. When I tried the chicken biscuit, the fried chicken was light, crispy, and wonderfully moist. The balance between the breading and the meat was just right; I particularly liked that there was more meat than breading, which you can definitely taste in the first bite. Plus, the biscuit was airy and fluffy, making it the perfect complement to the juicy chicken.
If you're looking for a quick yet home-cooked style breakfast, head over to Martin's right away. While it may have a fast-food vibe, the atmosphere is more like a sit-down restaurant. They serve large biscuits and real scrambled eggs, which is a nice touch. My go-to orders are either the sausage, egg, and cheese biscuit or the sausage gravy with a biscuit. Both are delicious and, in my opinion, better than Chick-fil-A's breakfast—and it's more affordable too! Just a tip: ask for 'light' ice in your drink, as they tend to fill your cup with crushed ice when you request water; I swear it’s 90% ice! Overall, the food is really good.
Great fast breakfast biscuits. I have been eating both here and at other locations for over 20 years. Their biscuits are excellent and available in small or large. I think the biscuit is the same size, they just add more meat, cheese, etc. My favorites are the Tenderloin, Smoked Sausage and biscuit and gravy. Breakfast is served all day until they close, which I think is at 3PM for most locations. You will never want McDonald's or the other fast food breakfast places again. They also have hamburgers, fries and sandwiches, but I haven't had those.
Drive over 2k Mike's for this. Did not disappoint. Took home a chicken steak egg biscuit to Texas and another steak egg and cheese to California. Good coffee also. Great employee at window. Stay awesome
