Bidra med feedback....and today's guest enjoys Sous Parterre. In 1694, Frederick Christian von Plettenberg, the prince bishop of Münster, had a need for a representative house outside the stubborn Catholic Münster, where he had to live his high-hearted ambitions, in the municipal office in Münster this was limited only. And so it comes that you will pass in 2019 on a bike tour from Haltern to Münster on a humble estate over Nordkirchen and take a break. On Sunday afternoon in the Schlossareal many weddings are celebrated, brides photographed, bridesmaids stuck in their 15cm heels above the baroque Schlosshof Palace, much to see. If you come closer to the court through the baroque gardens, you will learn that in today's time the Land NRW trains its financial officers in this castle, at the University of Finance of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia. In this way, our young financial officers hopefully learn what better does not do with the citizen's money, namely to drive up a decadence. In the truest sense of the word, the university has a culinary tenant, the restaurant in the Nordkirchen Castle. Up in the yard a small bistro card and a café, a staircase goes down into the guest rooms. At present, the complete interior is full of works by artist Franz L Lauter, who even transformed the toilets into studio areas. It was lunch and after a wonderful Saturday evening menu at the Ratshotel in Haltern, after 40 kilometers there was again a small hunger, so we first asked for outside (fortunately only small map, then after a meal inward more successful (also, they come in. The dining room has resumed the theme of baroque castle inside, which was already a very special atmosphere half below the water line. The tables were also decorated with artworks by the artist of the season 2019. The young man who served us in the guest room delivered us the cards and asked us a first drink request. Water, please, we were thirsty. The map is to be seen on the HP, a fairly refined kitchen that only cooks with fresh organic ingredients. A 12-course (degustation menu is offered and a few classics, that was it. The wine card makes less joy, which is very limited especially in open wines. So I had to enjoy an open, dry pork from the Palatinate, my wife with a fermenter from the Friuli. A collection of homemade bread. With a tomato pesto and a fresh cheese cream. That was a good bridging of the waiting period for the ordered main courses. For a multi-course lunch we both had no wish for the eve of the star menu. My wife chose chicken, I was duck. Duck Breast Chicken For both of us therefore poultry, but in very different orientation. Breast and keule from the mare with tomatoes Cassata and truffled polnta cream had ordered them. For me roast duck breast with fruity couscous salad. The dishes served were definitely an eyewitness. The dish of my wife classically executed, perfectly prepared chicken as fillet and route paired with a really delicious polnta, which was creamy served and clearly perceptible truffle aroma was flown. Exotic my plate, the breast classic fried, pink juicy inside, on a underwater level of dark jus and a fruity bright sauce. Unusual the supplement that was basically a fruit salad with cousin. Sweet fruit dominated, a light acid came from blackberries. For this purpose, the sharpness of the ginger, possibly also a very small piece of chili, and clear mint aroma ended the flavor combination. We didn't agree which dish was better, classic chicken or exotic duck, both were delicious. Two more espresso and we were sure, here we go back and eat more closely. The bill comes in the Treasury box and can only be paid cash or by EC card, so what New style as credit card does not work in the baroque castle. The service moved to an elevated level and was on the move with and above all with Eastern European tongue beat. There was nothing to complain about. Conclusion, recommended increased organic cuisine in a very baroque atmosphere. We'll be back. PS after 30 years of construction the dear bishop was broken and died! At some point everyone gets what he deserves!
....und today's guest the pleasure in Sous Parterre. Friedrich Christian von Plettenberg, Prince-Bishop of Münster, had a need for a representative residence outside of the stuffy Catholic Münster in 1694, somewhere he could live out his high lordly ambitions, as he could only do so to a limited extent in the church office in Münster. And so it happens that in 2019, on a bike tour from Haltern to Münster via Nordkirchen, one passes by a small and modest property and pauses in amazement. There is a lot going on on a Sunday afternoon on the castle grounds, weddings are being celebrated, brides are being photographed, bridesmaids are tottering in their 15cm heels over the baroque courtyard paved with cobblestones, there is much to see. As one gets closer to the courtyard through the baroque gardens, one learns that in today's times, the state of North Rhine-Westphalia educates its tax officials in this castle, at the University of Finance of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia. Accommodated in this building, hopefully our young tax officials will learn sustainably what not to do with the citizens' money, namely to push decadence to the extreme. The university has a culinary subtenant in the truest sense of the word, the restaurant in Schloss Nordkirchen. Upstairs in the courtyard, there is a small bistro menu and café, and going down a staircase leads to the dining rooms. Currently, the entire interior is filled with works by the artist Franz L Lauter, who has even turned the toilets into studio areas. It was lunchtime, and after a wonderful Saturday evening meal at the Ratshotel in Haltern, a bit of hunger had reappeared after 40 kilometers, so we asked first outside (unfortunately, only a small menu, then successfully inside for a meal (of course, come inside). So we went inside to the dining room right on the castle moat. The dining room picked up on the theme of the baroque castle on the inside, which was already a very special ambiance halfway below the waterline. The tables were also decorated with artworks by the artist of the 2019 season. The young man who served us in the dining room provided us with the menus and asked for our first drink order. Water please, we were thirsty. The menu can be viewed on the website, offering a quite sophisticated cuisine that cooks exclusively with fresh organic ingredients. A tasting menu ranging from one to twelve courses is offered, as well as a few classics, that's it. The wine list is less exciting, it is quite limited especially with the open wines. So I had to settle for an open dry Pinot Gris from the Palatinate, and my wife had a Traminer from Friuli. As an appetizer, a collection of homemade bread with a tomato pesto and cream cheese spread. This was a good way to bridge the waiting time for the ordered main courses. We both didn't feel like having a multi-course lunch after the previous evening's Michelin-starred meal. My wife chose chicken, and I chose duck. Chicken breast duck So for both of us, poultry, but in very different orientations. She had ordered breast and leg of young chicken with tomato cassata and truffled polenta cream. For me, roasted duck breast with fruity couscous salad. The plates served were definitely a feast for the eyes. The plate for my wife was executed classically, impeccably prepared chicken as filet and roulade paired with a truly delicious polenta, which was served creamy and exuded a distinct truffle aroma. My plate was more exotic, the breast seared classically, juicy pink on the inside, on a saucy bed of dark jus and a fruity light sauce. Unusually, the accompaniment was basically a fruit salad with couscous. Sweet fruits dominated, a light acidity came from blackberries. In addition, there was a touch of ginger spiciness, possibly even a tiny bit of chili, and a clear mint aroma completed the flavor combination. We couldn't agree on which plate was better, classic chicken or exotic duck, both were tasty. Two espressos later and we were sure, we will come back here again and dine more elaborately. The bill comes in a treasure chest and can only be paid in cash or by EC card; something as modern as a credit card doesn't work in the baroque castle. The service was of a high standard and was mainly with an Eastern European accent. There was nothing to complain about. In conclusion, a recommended upscale organic cuisine in a very baroque setting. We will definitely come back again. PS After 30 years of construction, the dear bishop was then broke and passed away! Eventually, everyone gets what they deserve!
