Cilantro Bangladeshi Bistro - Norfolk

This is a fantastic spot for enjoying Bangladeshi cuisine. Definitely worth a visit! While the ambiance and decor may not be remarkable, the food more than makes up for it.

We ordered goat biryani, jhaal chicken, rice, and a coke. The goat biryani had a strong saffron flavor but lacked sufficient meat. The jhaal chicken was flavorful, and the chicken was tender. To be honest, the $35 price seemed steep considering the decor and service.

This place is an absolute hidden gem! I'm so glad we discovered it. The food is fantastic. If you’ve never tried Bangladeshi cuisine, you absolutely need to! We ordered takeout, and one order provided enough food for three separate meals. It's definitely worth trying a variety of dishes and saving some for later. If you’re unsure how to pronounce the names of the dishes, don’t worry—the staff is extremely friendly. They're more than happy to offer recommendations and answer any questions you may have about the menu. They suggested several items, and each one was delicious!

Are you in the mood for a dessert that's overly sweet and served with a hefty portion of rice? Then this is the place for you. Unfortunately, they only offered two vegan options, both lacking in flavor. Overall, I had a disappointing experience at this restaurant.

This is possibly one of my favorite restaurants in the city. The food is amazing—fresh and served hot. I absolutely love the Veggie-Muthali!
