So incredibly sad to see this gem go! Service: Dine in Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
They have announced they will go out of business between July 16th and 17th...........
They don 't make 'em like Voila anymore. There 's nowhere as classy, as kind, and as genuinely tasty as Voila in Norfolk. Voila will be sorely sorely missed when it closes permanently on July 15, 2023. (Reservation only until then. It has been a family go-to, a personal favorite, and the best celebratory spot period. From the amuse-bouche to dessert, it 's a fabulous experience. The cocktails are insanely good (they could honestly charge double what they do for these . The freshly made caesar salad is a classic. I 've always loved the shrimp Athenian appetizer (prepared with pasta to make it an entree! . But the star of the show is the scallops and risotto. Each bite is eyes-rolling-to-the-back-of-your-head good. And the crème brûlée!! Oh man it just gets better and better. No more words. Sad to see them go, but so appreciative for the memories and countless wonderful evenings. Thank you, Maggie and John!!!
Alrighty let 's get right to it. Deciding where to take my wife to celebrate her birthday is no easy feat. Starting looking around, researching, and boom I landed on Voila, and we were not disappointed. Not one bit, we arrived promptly around 7:25, for our 7:30 reservation, when walking you can tell this is the place to be. Walking in immediately greeted by the hostess, within seconds we are off to our seats. Once seated our waiter comes over and helps us settle in. Both the wife and I settle on the French Onion Soup, for starters it was amazing baked to perfection, chunky with sautéed onions, cooked to perfection. For our main entree the wife choice was the Seafood Gratin De Fruits De Mer I had the Beef Wellington, now we were both highly impressed with our dishes. Wife 's dish was cooked to perfection, the sauce that was use was immaculately prepared, we both loved and agreed her dish was the best dish of all. My Beef Wellington, was delishh I compared it to Hell 's Kitchen (Las Vegas) I would say a solid 4/5. We joked about having the sauce from the wife 's as the gravy for my mashed potato 's. Low lighting, soft upbeat background music, colorful yet soft and delicate panting. This establishment is a must try especially for a intimate, date night. Another note I must add, which we usually don 't see often is when walking into the establishment, like most places when you look at other people most the time they are on their phones, not here. Everyone was conversing with each other and having a ball spending quality time.
