Bidra med feedbackWe stopped by this restaurant before embarking on our journey through the hidden forest. The menu was not very extensive, especially for picky eaters or vegans, and the prices were quite high - £1.90 for cans of juice and £4 for each toastie. We ordered 3 toasties, 1 serving of chips, and 3 cans of juice which totaled just under £20. Unfortunately, the food did not meet our expectations - the toasties tasted like cheap bread and the chips were undercooked. We were disappointed with the quality of the food, especially considering the prices. Additionally, the menu is not visible until you are inside the restaurant, so you are unaware of the prices beforehand. Overall, we would not recommend dining at this establishment.
We stopped by for a fast sandwich and coffee at this restaurant. It was decent, but a bit expensive for what we got. The ice cream shop had a wide variety of options and we were able to find a delicious dairy-free ice cream for my daughter, which she really enjoyed!
Visited the wonderful Kelburn Country Park today. The park is amazing and what a great time we had with the park events and the Kelburn staff were wonderful. Shame a member of the cafe staff can't take a note from it. Went into the cafe and purchased 4 rolls and drinks, took them outside to sit, only to be approached by a staff member telling us the tables belonged to the cafe and weren't for picnics. My kids were sitting with crisps and snacks we'd brought but we'd also spent almost twenty pounds in the cafe. I said that I'd bought items from the cafe but the reply was that didn't matter because we had a picnic bag with us and that sends a message to others that the tables can be used for picnics. The staff member proceeded to place a sign on the table intimating only purchases from the cafe could be eaten there, fair enough. She then went on to say that we were fine to finish our food on this occasion, I would think so!!! I bought it from your establishment.Tea and afternoon cake were swiftly cancelled as there was no way I was going to spend any more of my money in the cafe due to one member of staff and the way we were approached. This review is not a reflection of other members of staff or Kelburn park but for anyone planning on going soon....stick to a picnic!
Nice food, friendly service with children's menu available. Dogs welcome to with water bowls available. Indoor and outdoor seating available as well as a grassy area to sit on.
I really enjoyed the cozy, rustic atmosphere of this café. It was surprisingly spacious inside and they had a great variety of homemade cookies and desserts. I ordered a cookie and tea, which was delicious and reasonably priced. It's a perfect place to stop in for a quick drink or to escape the weather, or in my case, to wait for a Castle tour to start. If you have a family, it would be a good idea to bring a picnic along. The café is all on one level, making it accessible for those with mobility issues.
