Bidra med feedbackChicken Salad was great. I loved it. 2 stars because there were 2 butts of lettuce in my salad. You make the salad by hand, how does this happen? It made the salad look full cause it was under the lettuce, so now I was out about 1/4 of my salad because of the 2 butts of lettuce. Completely unacceptable.
WOW... not sure what to say about what I witnessed here. I love firehouse subs because no matter what city I've been too, they're always clean, friendly, and serving fresh food. I went in tonight to pick up an online order about 30 minutes before close. They already had their open sign off. Another woman was there picking up an order too. There were two employees behind the counter making the food and a woman wearing cutoff shorts and a sports bra. She had her baby sitting on the sandwich counter playing where they were preparing the food. She also had on gloves picking up her baby moving her and helping the two gentlemen some with the sandwiches?? I had no clue what to say. I just took the food I had already paid for and left.. I understand sometimes your kids may have to come to your work but do not understand why they would ever be crawling on the food preparation counter WHILE preparing food.
So the place is good, I will give them that. The theme is great I used to be a firefighter so the décor always makes it fun to go, especially with children. But the food has to stand apart from the rest of the places that sell similar food, in this case subs. I believe what really separated Firehouse Subs from the rest of the local sub shops was their hot sauces they had prior to the virus that scared the world. Post pandemic when everything opened back up the sauces did not return. I was curious as to why, and I was told by one store that people would handle the bottles and it became unsanitary. When they said that I looked at the soda machine which has 120 varieties of soda you can choose from by the push of a button. I believe Firehouse Subs is missing the mark on this which is why I gave only 3 stars. Bring back the sauces because the subs are no longer unique from other sub places. I hate leaving reviews like this but unfortunately they used the pandemic as a reason to eliminate what set you apart from the rest.
I called this place today to place a pickup order. The employee answered the phone and without even waiting for me, put me on hold. He just sat on the phone. I heard him laughing and joking with someone in the lobby. At first I thought it was an order, but after about 5 minutes being in hand and hearing several stories, no order was taken. I might have decided I had to call again to remind him that I was still waiting. I hung up and waited a few minutes and tried to call back, but apparently he still had me under control. We decided to just go there and place the order. When we came in, there were 3 employees present. There was no urgency of 2 of the staff, in fact, one of the men was more interested in the Saints Football game on TV than he with support ANYONE. The lobby began to fill tp with customers who had ordered online or by phone. I saw at least 5 different people in and the answer was always the same, oh yes, we work on it. After about 20 minutes we had our sandwiches with others still on their. I got no chance to catch the names of these employees, but I can assure you this is not what we expect when we visit a firehouse! We will NOT return to this particular, no matter how close it is. Not after 5 star experience here only a little professionalism and SOME customer service.
We stopped at this restaurant during our travels today. Since this is one of our favorite spots back home in Houston, we decided to make a stop on our way back from Missouri. While the food still has great flavor, the service was excessively slow. I think management could improve by training employees to be more aware of sanitation practices, such as wearing hair nets if they have long hair, avoiding AirPods unless they're on break, and ensuring they accurately handle both dine-in and carry-out orders. It shouldn’t take nearly 25 minutes for a single sandwich, especially with only 3 or 4 people ahead of us and a few carry-out orders (not to mention that our order was incorrect, which added to the delay). With six employees on the line, orders should be ready in half that time (as a chef, I can attest to that). The restaurant has the potential to do much better with quicker, cleaner, and more accurate service.
