Cookies Lounge Bar - North Strathfield

Ate here a number of times. Generous glasses of wine and reasonable prices. My food on both occasions was good, salmon on 1 visit, fish

Started off with drinks which were a good size and value for money. We moved from the bar area into the dinning part and within a very short period a wait person brought menus over. We ordered at the bar and the meals arrived about 10mins later. The guiness pie was a bit disappointing as the pie looked large but was only half filled with meat. The burgers nachos and steaks were well cooked and the portions were adequate. I ordered a rare steak and my partner ordered med to well done....both were cooked correctly, which believe me is a rare thing. The steaks were tender and the acompanying chips and salad were good. It took quite some time for the empty plates to be taken away but a monor issue in the bogger picture.

Pork Belly on the menu sounded nice but it was all fat with a thin line of pork belly meat. Crackling passable. Accompanied by very fatty vegetables cooked in Duck fat (which were also passable. However, how can someone charge $23 or $29 as I cant remember now (not a lot of money for a decent meal) for two strips of under cooked fat on a plate and a carrot cut in half? For a Sunday,the pub atmosphere and the on the old Arnott's site was nice (and a draw card) but unfortunately the reason it was only a third full must be the menu. My partner had a very dry rump steak. I eat out most nights f the week but but would not eat there again. I had to go elsewhere and eat further up the road as the plate was inedible. Only go there for drinks next time.

Recently went to Cookies for lunch with the family and children, meal was just great, children were well catered for and service is always fantastic from the lovely staff members, never enough room for dessert, relaxed and casual dining, love cookies our favourite place with the family in North Strathfield.

I found the meal sufficiently falling I had the chicken parmigiana wife had garlic prawns I had sticky date pudding for dessert
