Bidra med feedbackThis place doesn't look like much but the food and service outstanding! So glad we gave it a try!
This restaurant doesn't look like much on the outside or inside. It is in an old Vermont building that hasn't been updated in decades. However, it is very typical of many Vermont rural restaurants. Despite being old, it is very clean. We arrived for lunch and the only waitress working was running as quickly as she could to cover around 5 to 6 tables. There appeared to be a single person cooking in the back. The waitress quickly greeted us and took our drink order. I decided on the fried chicken and my wife had the buffalo chicken sandwich from the specials board. Our orders arrived around 10-15 minutes later. My fried chicken was very crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. There were four pieces and the taste was very good. The mashed potatoes with white gravy likewise tasted good. The Cole slaw was ground very fine, and it tasted good. My wife said her sandwich was great. The whole experience was like being transported in time to 1952 Vermont. We got a lot of food for a good price and surprisingly, the food was very good. It was a fun dining experience for us and we will definitely return.
Got takeout from here while staying at Jay Peak. Wanted something different than the Jay restaurants and couldn't get a reservation anywhere. This place has good, homey American food at reasonable prices, and they had it ready in 20 minutes. It's about a 15 minute drive from Jay. Good kids menu and lots of dessert choices.
Delicious food on our way back from Jay Peak. Great service and fantastic prices. Highly, highly recommend.
Local bar and restaurant. Close spacing between tables. Could only hold probably 50 people at capacity. Nothing special. Normal american restaurant. Servers are not the one taking orders and getting checks. Parking space is ample but if not enough, may park by the roadside. Food is fair.
