Rus and I had our NYE dinner here after walking by a few times and seeing the place packed night after night.

A colleague of mine dragged us across town for dinner after a conference yesterday, he was raving about the place.

We stopped for lunch on our way back to Perth from Exmouth. The vanilla slice was as per other reviews but the hand cut hot chips surpassed the vanilla slice.

Yeah, I know I'm a Yank, but I've done my best to become a connoisseur of Australian bakeries, having repeatedly failed in my attempt to stop eating too many sugary things at several dozen such establishments. But The Shearing Shed was the best I've ever been to. The Vanilla Slice deserves the hype, it's simply fantastic. As was the salted caramel brownie. And the sausage roll. Friendly service, too.
