Bidra med feedbackIs a weekend, simply no reservation hence we are there waiting for the restaurant to operate. A crowd swam in and it was half occupied on a Sat morning! Wow... most of the dim sum taste good and fresh. Love the pork vinegar, the chilly oil, congee. 5 stars for the food Service play an important part. They need to work on thisno stars award to their services.
Went here for a catchup with friends. About 12 of us. We rang and tried to book but they said they do not take bookings for lunch. So when we arrived they asked if we had a booking. WTF..??? Then they looked uneasy in trying to find a table. The food was quick and good. We were constantly asking for more pork buns but they just would not bring it....not sure what happened. Anyway the rest of the food was good.
Cantonese style dimsum and taste good. Fried noodle with beef was awesome. Busy sunday lunch and service was very slow. Request had to be made a few times before being served. I'd give 4 star for the food but not the service.
We regularly visited Dragon Palace for dim sum as it is usually fantastic. Unfortunately the last 3 times we visited, the standard has really gone down. Particularly, the last time we had dim sum at Dragon Palace, we were seated at a table that hadn't been set up for service at all. There was not even a table cloth on the table. It wasn't particularly busy and there were other tables set up. We were positioned so that none of the carts came by our table and in the end we had to gain the attention of a passing waitress to order what we wanted. What has really put us off from returning is that when we ordered a chilli oil, the one we were given was used. It had remnants of food left in the oil, which was quite disgusting and off putting.
We like our dim sum and are regulars. A week ago a friend and I visited Dragon Palace for lunch and it was about half full. As there were only two of us, we were steered all the way up the back, past lots of empty tables to be sat on a platform/stage against the back wall where there were tables for 2. Obviously this meant getting up and going up to the food trolleys every time we wanted to see what was on offer. Yeh, first world problems, but service was very sluggish and I don't know why as there were lots of staff wandering around. Food however was terrible! The squid was so tough I sent it back, which I never do! The special sticky rice was filled with beans and dry, and the pork buns and steamed prawn dumplings were fine. We gave up and left after those three efforts as service was not forthcoming and it was not fun at all. Chinese tea cost $4 for two, and our total bill was about $35 ish. Unimpressed. There is lots of competition, so we won't be back.
