If traditional Tibetan means terrible service, then this place is as traditional as it gets Waited 20 minutes for someone to take our order.

To be honest, the only reason I came here outside of my interest for Tibetan food, was for the dumplings.

Momo Dumpling was salty and tough. The main Calamari Solo took more than 40 minutes and another 15 at least for a Steam Coconut Rice. 2 people serving with

Everyone is raving about Wild Yak's momo dumplings, and after trying them for the first time I see why. The food in this little gem of a place is delicious, generous and very reasonably priced. Décor is pleasant and interesting, recreating an authentic Tibet Himalaya feel. The restaurant is patronised by Tibetans as much as Australians, which suggests it is the real deal. The superb food has something of Nepal, India and China, but also something unique that reflects the uniqueness of Tibet. I was surprised how well-rounded Tibetan food is, with dishes that could be European, to dishes indistinctly Asian, all served with a warm friendliness. A variety of beers are available but you BYO wine. Accessibility is excellent as the tram runs right by it and parking is easy enough to find in adjacent backstreets. They have an interesting little library of books and albums about Tibet which are worth a browse if you have time to linger. Overall, highly recommended.

I've been her for a number of times now and thought it was time to give the place some promotion. Just to let you know it's not everyone's type of restaurant; food is great and flavorsome, the decor is fashionably Nepalese style, so don't expect a Fat Duck experience.. The service is welcoming and the place is relatively quite when I've visited, but as one review mentioned they can get busy on some nights and a little restaurant like this will undoubtedly have some issues. But saying this you get great food, lovely friendly service at a great price. I can also say that they do have some wine which is suitable too. No the biggest selection but yo'll find a drop that you can easily drink and enjoy at a great price.This is great local so give it ago.
